Loaded Tea Recipe

There is no need to join nutrition clubs when you can make your own Loaded Tea recipe at home! Full to the brim with health benefits, this boosted tea recipe will give you a natural energy boost with just a little caffeine.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 litre filtered water
  • 4 Green Tea bags I used mango and passionfruit flavor
  • 1 inch fresh ginger sliced
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 lemon juiced
  • 1/2-1/4 cup sweetener to taste (see note 1)

Optional for ombre effect

  • 1 tsp butterfly pea powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions
 

  • Add the water, tea bags, sliced ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon to a medium pot on the stove.
  • Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in Lemon juice and sweetener.
  • Allow the loaded tea to cool down to room temperature. Remove and discard the teabags and sliced ginger.
  • To serve, fill a large glass with ice.
  • Fill the glass 1/3 of the way up with loaded tea.
  • Top up all the way with water, or top it almost all the way and follow the next steps for the ombre effect.

For the ombre effect

  • Mix the butterfly pea powder, honey and water together in a small bowl or jar.
  • Pouring very slowly, top the loaded tea up with this blue matcha mix.

Notes

  1. Sweetener: I recommend either 1/2 cup of erythritol or sugar, or 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup.
  2. Store leftover loaded tea in an airtight container like a jar for up to a week in the fridge.
  3. Mix well before making another drink. The turmeric and cinnamon will separate from the rest of the tea, so just shake it up and pour.
